Crissa, you will *love* this lens! I've never seen a rebate for Sigma lenses,... Check Sigma4less for pretty good prices.

Crissa this is the lens Curtis N does for theatre shoots where I use the Canon 50 1.4 and Tamaron 28-75 (Well I will when we get back from repairs:cry: ). We did get through Sigma4less. Check out our Theatre Gallary, most the close ups were done with the Sigma, group shots are my job.

Regarding Tammy (28-75), shortly after we got her, she started through both of our cameras into Error 99. Since she is under warranty we sent her in for repairs. Hopefully she will be back by the end of the month and I'll have when my sister-in-law and I do Thelma and Louise Weekend Duex in Ft. Lauderdale, FL mid-October.

Do you process all your RAW files and then save them as .jpg?

Curtis N and I use the RSP to straighten, crop, and exposure compensation then we convert them to 8 bit TIFF files. From there we bring them in to Noise Ninja, Paint Shop Pro, and possibly Digital Photo Professional to resize and sharpen and other fine tuning if necessary or artistic stuff if I'm so inclined.

thats alot of post-processing.. i generally browse through the raw files w/ RSP, then if i like any of them edit w/ photoshop.. could explain why everyones pictures are better :) i just dont get photoshop. the curves and stuff, wtf.

thats alot of post-processing..

Need to edit, we don't post process EVERYTHING, just the keepers and when we do a performance shoot, we check which is the better of similar photos we may have both taken and PP the winner. But, we are averaging 300-400 pictures per performance CD which is a lot of PP. We have gotten into in a work flow rythmn and it really doesn't take all that much time. Burning the CD's is the time consumer.

I keep refreshing as I'm post processing pictures from this weekend. Have to sign off for a bit and let Curtis N back on this computer (office) I'll be back in awhile.

Flying in and out, pot roast with noodles and an apple salad tonight. We had a nice weekend of shooting. Our nephew's flag football game and some senior pictures yesterday and out to a local apple orchard today. Curtis N didn't feel like shooting so I used the 20D. Must say I'm getting use to some of the features I wasn't top keen on at first and I'm beginning to really like them. Like that custom function using the * for focusing.

Im gonna be sittin here for the rest of the night now, till bedtime. (which is going to be quite early for me tonight *yawn* )

I've got a bit of work to do, but I will keep ya in the background. :D
(yeah, we all know how that turns out for me, LOL. I end up spending way more time here than on my work, LOL)

Chris...I'm still waiting to hear about your Lowe's issue. I feel like I have practically lived at Lowe's these last few months during our remodel. Have never had a problem.

Thanks for the info Becky, I wasn't sure why anyone would go to .jpg instead of leaving them raw or going to a lossless type such as .tiff. So I guess everybody does it a little different.
I have used Paint Shop Pro for years, I like it and it seems to be about the same as Photoshop. I am just now switching to Photoshop at home. I do use Photoshop at work so I am a little familiar with it, but I am learning a lot more now.
How do you like Noise Ninja? How does it compare to the noise reduction in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro?

Jack

My eyes see well enough, and the camera is capable enough, now if they would just work together.
