Hi, all.

Just came by to drop a pic (no, I didn't take it, but decided to share it anyway)

If some of you remember previously, I said we were expecting. We had an ultrasound done today, and found out we will be having a boy! Anyway, here's a shot of him:

Congrats MR

Hi Jamie... Been awful slow on here this morning. Maybe because it's Australia Day and all the Aussies are off celebrating...!

I'm just back from a walk with Nifty...

He's fine thanks. Spent lunchtime taking some shots around Temple in London (if you've read the DaVinci code, it's that place...! Also a bit around St Pauls and the Old Bailey (London's main criminal courts).

Hey Jamie? If you get a few minutes today, could you direct me to a good tutorial for taking action shots and/or panning? I've been reading threads on POTN but the advice is often conflicting.

Pete - take him (nifty) to the Tower. :)
or to M. Taussauds. ;)

That train shot is freaky - looks like the train and the people are toys! Reminds me of Thomas - any minute now Ringo Star is going to start telling the story...

He he.. I stole that idea off your model railway shot you posted up yesterday. I figured it was done with selections and gaussian blurs. I just blurred the background and foreground and left the train as it was. If I'd have been thinking properly last night, I would have saturated and sharpened the train to make it stand out more.

I found a tutorial recently on how to do that. I've been looking for the right subject to try it out on.

You are supposed to oversaturate the picture, according to the tutorial. I just love that effect!

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Yeah. I meant to saturate and sharpen the subject more, but for some reason I didn't. The white flecks in that shot is actually snow (part of the platform is uncovered).

Anyone played with printing on canvas? I bought canvas photo "paper" and printed a picture with a PS water color filter applied. Came out somewhat painting like.

I've never done it myself, but I've had my printer do it. (Printer person, not printer machine, lol)
The picture I posted in TPBM a while ago of the doorways at Fort Point is a 20x30 (roughly) on canvas. It looks fantastic.

I have toyed with the idea of printing at home on canvas. How is the quality?

Pete, that shot is great! I love the effect. It does look like a storybook picture.
