What a pain in the patootie.

yeah tell me about it. Now I have to write up a little letter as to WHY i'm sending in the rebate late and he says, if they notify you it's too late, then call us and we'll do the rebate over the phone. Why not NOW i ask? Well you have to submit the paperwork first...

Cat:
Congratulations on the new ride. You're going to love it.

We had a Dakota many years ago. We alctually bought it the first (or maybe second) year they sold them. I belive it was around 1987 or 88. It was a great truck to drive in its day, although it had a rather gutless V-6 in it. My mom-in-law drove it most of the time, and put on a lot of very gentle miles.

When we moved down to the desert, we gave it to a contractor friend of ours, and he turned it over to his painting crew. Last I saw, it was looking pretty grim, although according to my friend it was still running great with over 200,000 miles on it.

After a year or so of being without a truck, we decided to buy a Tundra. We put 100,000 miles on it in just a couple years, so bought another Tunder (4WD this time), and put 100,000 miles on it---that only took us a little less than 3 years.

We still have the second Tundra, and except for the back bumper that I customized, it still looks like new.

Trucks are great.

Now we're putting most of our highway miles on in the Lexus, and it gets considerably better mileage than the truck or the Grand Cherokee.

Let's hope your son doesn't out grow the Yukon too soon. I don't know what you buy after that.

He won't outgrow it, they'll just remove one row of seating for his leg room!

Chief: we kept the Dakota too. It's paid off and I am severely attached to it. ;) It's a GREAT truck, just a bit too small. But it can baha with the best of them, and I love to baha. :D

PS...you're not going to spend your whole vacation with us, are you? LOL ;)

No, this is a working trip. In fact, after driving 650 miles today, we actually had an appointment before we went to the hotel. We're looking at investment property in the area, and will probably spend all day tomorrow working on that. Maybe we'll get a little kick-back time on Sunday, but on Monday, we have to be out of here at 4:00am because our first appointment in the Bay Area is at 9:00. We were just up here for New Years, so there isn't a great deal of novelty to these trips by now.

Besides, there's nobody I'd rather spend my free time with than POTNers. (and that's the truth)

Thanks for that link Crissa. I looked again but it is not available here yet in either the Tahoe or the Yukon. I would be it will come next year.

It would be like having a box at the game instead of bleacher seats. :)
