I can really use some help finding a tripod mount ring for a 70-200 2.8L Non-IS lens I just got a real sweet deal on. Could not pass it up but no tripod mount ring. I am having a real hard time finding them available anywhere on-line even B&H. I found them for the F4 version but not mine. I assume they may come with it when new and not as an option? Obviously if there is anyone who has one for sale I am interested.
Thanks for helping, Dave

Have you tried looking through Ebay?

I'd contact Canon to see how to purchase one directly from them. Maybe for the 70-200 f/2.8L it's considered to be a part instead of an accessory since it comes with the lens. I could be wrong, but I believe the model you are looking for is the Canon Tripod Mount Ring B(W) ... but you probably already knew that :)

Been checking eBay, none to be found there as of yet. BTW is this lens too heavy to use the tripod mount on the bottom of a 20D?

Those are all third-party products, and don't look too great in terms of design and quality to me...

As far as I can tell these are all for the F4.0 lens, they will not fit the F2.8 Non-IS.

I have a good tripod, I was worried about the stress on the camera body if I put too heavy a lens on it and use the body mount tripod hole.
