I like this shot! What I do to brighten teeth is use the dodge tool in CS. Set the exposure to about 10% because you don't want to overdo it and make them look like false teeth! Then just set your brush size to the size of the individual tooth and click on the tooth until it lightens as much as you would like. I tried to find the website where I found this tip, but couldn't find it. Sorry!

The original is better. She's not a fashion model or a young person who should have white teeth. Teeth darken with age; it's a badge of honor worn by us old folks.

mark:)

I like the original more, the second looks too fake. For whitening teeth I use the dodge tool.

Nice photograph and good job with the photoshop as well. I think the best edit would be somewhere between these two, closer to the original than your edit. The best way to whiten teeth is to select them with the lasso tool (feather the edges a bit), then desaturate the yellows and brighten the result just a bit. Think of it as taking the yellow out as opposed to adding white....this will help over correcting them. You can use the same technique for the eyes, only remove the red. If you want turn on the 'image editing OK' switch on your profile we can give it a try if you wish.
