Flash Clip for G3/ noise question

I have had my G3 for about 2 weeks. It's been fun playing with all of the settings and trying to learn about photography (although my kids run when I get the camera out). The indoor pics I take sometimes have the normal red eye, I know an external flash will help solve this (I have tried a friend's 420 flash) on e-bay there is something called a FLASH CLIP that diffuses the light, I wonder if any of you have tried one of these? If so what kind of results did it yield?

The other thing is the amount of noise at ISO 200 and above. The pictures I have taken at this setting (all inside as the weather has been bad) have been much noisier than I expected, does anyone use the higher ISO settings inside or outside, or do G3 users select lower ISOs and adjust the apature and shutter speeds?

Thanks in advance.

Read my post here:

I use ISO 50 for everything and use a tripod/minipod when needed.
