Something about a "very limited edition Canon 1200mm" and a very angry lady :p

And go and read UMC! Laugh yourself sick!!

Or get Snir to make you another BFK :)

I am sure its been posted somewhere in here already, but if you have not read this, its a great review of the 5D. Maybe I'll hang on to it for the time being :)

If you find one, cut me in on the secret. Heck, I will give YOU $1K as a finder's fee once the $500-for-new500mmf/4LISUSM deal goes through :)

I read the 5D article as well, very well written. What I do not understand is the sour graping of the 5D that I keep hearing (not referring to you or other enlightened participants of this thread), ie. "The 5D has a pathetic .. [Insert x feature here].. compared to some other [Insert allegedly manifestly superior and all powerful camera here]". For example, "the 5D is horrible because it only shoots 3fps and the 1DM2N shoots 8fps". (maybe bad example but I want to avoid pointing out the obviously guilty)

Well, put it this way. If the feature was so important, why not shoot with the other platform? Maybe because the other 'superior' camera has its own set of drawbacks?

I have always said the 5D is a nice camera. I've never said the 5D is some kind of "god camera" that is superior to ANYTHING ever made. It isn't, plain and simple. It's merely a nice package that happens to hit a lot of sweet spots, and so happens, those are the ones I like.

Love it for what it is, and forgive it for what it isn't (applies to all cameras, actually). If one has the money, buy it, if not, use what one can and be happy. If opportunity had not knocked I would still be on my 20D today. Would I be happy? Most likely. I had my EF-S Trinity done to perfection (in my eyes) and that would have still been in use.

Forgive the rant, I just felt that some people are never satisfied.

The 5D gets a bad rap from some because they want a 1 series camera with 22 MP's that shoots 10 FPS and costs only $2,000.00. Oh and with ISO 12,800. Until then, there will always be the whiners

I want that too! ;) But I'm realistic enough to realize it won't happen anytime soon, and during that meantime I might as well enjoy all that I can get. Even if it is just a 350D.
