At various times during the (so far) life of this thread I've considered deleting OT posts (which would leave about 5), splitting off some of the unrelated topics (except I wouldn't be able to keep up with the OT spinoffs) or moving it to GC where it'd be someone else's problem. I even considered giving you all a real challenge and splitting Dante's, Ronald's Billg's and Calico's posts off into their own separate threads. But on mature reflection, I'm gonna leave it here as is and see how long you guys can keep blethering on.

As a matter of fact, they do. I'm not interested in those that like me for money, though. I went through that, and I'm done. It was too expensive, and if I were to do it again, it would inhibit my gear purchasing power.

Definitely! Prioritize!

Unless of course both of you (as in our case) happen to like purchasing gear...then, it's all gravy!

nah, we don't mooch each other's gear...sometimes we willingly share but never mooch

edit: fortunately we like exactly the opposite pieces of equip. (or unfortunately for the budget)

I'm way too selfish to ever be married. I can deal with friends alright, but what's mine is mine, not yours.

It's good then that you know that about yourself before you married someone...it'd be terrible to find out later.

anyway, I was only half joking when I said prioritize...it's important to know yourself & your strengths, weaknesses and limits...that's a good thing.

My weakness is gear ;)
(and a terrible longing for the 85L)

EDIT: (and to refer to the topic of this post...) AND A TERRIBLE AND NEW (NEVER BEFORE REALIZED) LONGING FOR THE 300 F/2.8

My longing is similar, only in the 50mm variety. soon as I can find one, it won't be a longing, though. :-D

Aha! I knew I made a good decision when I married into the Canon EOS Family. Well apart from the fact that they keep encouraging me to give them money on a regular basis... :P

Another victim of the 300 f/2.8L!!! Remember that L always stands for Lust!!

The problem is, that damned 70-200 2.8 ISL seems to be calling me again...
