It was the typical high school stadium with so so lighting, but the 300 handled it really well. I have to convert all ther files to Raw, then crop them so it will be awhile before I post any shots. In the meantime, here are is one from yesterdays game taken with the 300, love the bokeh That looks good, mah mon ! Canon SD600

I wish his file revealed the photo info like some peoples do, and mine, must be the site he used to upload it or something. That way we can see the shooting info right away. Excellent shot in every way...I hate to do this (ask a photography question on this thread I mean)...but do you have to work hard to get it to do what you want? You know, like some lenses have that "sweet spot"...where they work well but in other spots, do you really have to "make it happen"? I'm telling you, I NEVER wanted this lens till I saw your photos (didn't see Dantes until after yours)... This lens is sweet all over, from the center to the edges "You are going to fall off a cliff trying to get a better shot someday"- My hopeful and loving wife

I like the shutter speed high, so I move the ISO accordingly. Tonight it was manual mode, ISO 3200, 1/500th and F/2.8 "You are going to fall off a cliff trying to get a better shot someday"- My hopeful and loving wife

Part of the outrageous price of the L lenses (well, at times) is that one basically pays for a lens that shines from wide open...

I have always felt that I can stop any lens down and enhance its performance, even the 18-55 can be awesome at f/8-f/11 (been there, done it, and I STILL like the results even after being spoiled by all the good stuff), but a lens that one can shoot wide open and still trust to deliver the goods.....now that is awesome. Things like the 60 macro at f/2.8....absolutely NO hesitation to use it wide open. My 300 f/4L is nice and sharp at f/4, and ULTRAsharp at f/4.5. The 300 f/2.8.. I don't like to think ![]() The 300 is extremely sharp at F/2.8, very nice lens "You are going to fall off a cliff trying to get a better shot someday"- My hopeful and loving wife
