I finally got around to taking my oldest daughter's 8th birthday photo this afternoon. Her birthday was in July, but I ended up in the hospital a week after it. We did the shoot in my backyard "studio". As some of you know, portraits aren't my specialty, so let me know what you think.

I like them both. I wish I could have the same results doing portraits. Did you use any fill light?

No fill light was used. The only "trick" was my wife used a piece of cardboard to block the patchy sunlight on my daughter's face in the second photo.
