Initial observations are: very light for a 400mm lens. Need to have some light to use it, shutter speeds under 1/500th require extreme steadiness. Great lens, very sharp. I am still partial to the 100-400L due to its IS. Let me know what you think of these shots, all taken on the OG 1D. Dan I use this lens for birds in flight and wildlife on my hikes. I love to hike.
