I'd try evening out the highlight/shadow ratios. You can do it better at the time of the photographs but most certainly it can still be done with post processing.

I'm not sure where you had the umbrella, but the flash high and left is definately hot. Pull it away from the subject to get a more balanced light.

More info | Sep 10, 2006 12:12 | #11 They do look a little dark to me. If you shot in RAW you can bump up the exposure and soften the blown out highlights that will happen when you bump the exposure. Liek others said, the lighting is all crazy. It's either too bright or too dark or just not even. In the first a reflector would do well under her. Her face is waay too dark. In the shots with the boy, it seems like the crops are either too cropped or not cropped enough. And deffinately consider a lighter background for kids. Danielle
