I think they are all cute but the lighting ratios are harsh. I'd try evening out the highlight/shadow ratios. You can do it better at the time of the photographs but most certainly it can still be done with post processing.

The third photo scares me so bad. I can't even look again:) The last three are very cute. I am not too sure about the setup. I think maybe a lighter background would suit the playful nature of the photos and toys

If you are using two flashes then pull the hot one further back to get less light. I'm not sure where you had the umbrella, but the flash high and left is definately hot. Pull it away from the subject to get a more balanced light.

Actually upon looking back at the shot, more fill would have been great! Put the umbrella closer to the subject or whatever is to the right.

Very cute children and photos. Lighting is darker on the right side. Perhaps a little added light or a second flash on that side to brighten them up. Very nice work regardless.

They do look a little dark to me. If you shot in RAW you can bump up the exposure and soften the blown out highlights that will happen when you bump the exposure.

I hope you don't mind my quick edit on your little girl... she's adorable by the way. I bumped up levels, added brightness & contrast, and then did a fill flash action that I downloaded from atncentral.com It might be a little too bright, but you get the idea...

I can remove it if you like...

Cute kiddos! Learning lighting is not fun... I'm doing the same thind myself.

The kids are cute. Liek others said, the lighting is all crazy. It's either too bright or too dark or just not even. In the first a reflector would do well under her. Her face is waay too dark. In the shots with the boy, it seems like the crops are either too cropped or not cropped enough. And deffinately consider a lighter background for kids.

Beautiful children (even the scary one!). The one thing that I noticed in several of the shots was that you had cut off hands and feet. Although, I suppose you had a moving target and it might have been hard to get him contained in one shot! :)
