While at some friends last weekend, I saw this beauty swoop in and I grabbed my camera, 70-200 mounted and took some photos. At first I cranked up the ISO and shot without flash, then I decided to shoot some with the onboard flash as I was afraid he would not wait for me to go get the flash gun. Here is one of the better ones.

Rare Bird, excellent opportunity, great capture...

I have seen one in Penn's woods twice in 3 decades.

Nice capture, AJ. Looks like you took advantage of a great opportunity! That's one beautiful bird. Glad you had your camera nearby, because you're probably right, it wouldn't have stuck around too long.
