More from my new found hide (the kids' trampoline). People bang on about composition in landscape photography, but it is just as important here.

These are very good shots Damien, the colours are wonderful in both the background but also on the bird and good detail in the plumage, well done.

Nice colors, nice subject, great details in the bird. The first shot is my favorite, the tilt of the head makes for a nice shot. Nice work!

YES although it often hard for us to get good composition because birds move around, but it can make a good photo a great photo - the stumpy bits to the left of the bird spoile the shot's imho
But it is what you think or like that count's - on my eddit the bird stands out more but it is only my view and i have been known to be wroung, but that guy did not know what he was talking about ;)
Rob.

Thanks Tony, Keith and Rob. Rob I like your edit but I think the bird has more room in the original.

It could just be that I'm on a laptop, but those images look a little overexposed by a hair. Otherwise they are excellent photos. Good job.

Nice shots of a very cool looking bird. My only real nit is the hot whites in the neck and head . Nice in any case.

Obsolutely. And you've done a nice job composing these photos. Beautiful subject too.:)

Thanks everyone. Not much PS here - just a bit of levels and that is all. I've got some more to post of a baby goldfinch - different head style.

Beautiful shots. Sharp with good details and I really like the pose and composition in them both. :-)

Best regards

Sindri
