Finally got some shots of this beautiful little bird. They are so hard to capture as they move around constantly! I found a grove of sassafras trees and the fruit attracted tons of kingbirds, veeries and vireos. I was thrilled when I actually saw that I'd finally gotten some shots that show off those beautiful red eyes!

Red-eyed Vireo

One more (though you can't tell the eye is red, I like the pose and colors.)

Excellent shots. The eye is absolutely terrific. I have one of these in my yard all summer.

Thanks Reigh! You are so lucky to have one in your yard. They are such cool birds and extremely vocal as I'm sure you know!

Those eyes are really sharp and set off the birds really well.

Congrats ngannet! These are excellent captures.
I heard them once in awhile but can't never find them let alone photograph them. We have plenty of white-eyed vireos here but i still don't have a good photo of them. Not a cooperative poser.:)

Very nice captures, he certainly lives up to his name that red eye is stunning.

Great shots. I assume these were taken with the 400 mm f/5.6Lens?

Great series Bob. The second and the last one are striking. The pose in the last one makes it my favorite. Nicely done!
