Same size, alot less money and better reviews Actually, the 400 DO is 4.3 lbs, and the 300 f/2.8 L IS is 6 lbs without the TC, so the 400 is much lighter. As far as sharpness, I have used the 300 with a TC and it's phenomenal and I don't know how the 400 DO compares. SolPics
