100-400 - and I don't think I sharpened it in post processing. But I might be wrong - It's been a long day.

The reason I said that was because the background looks kind of grainy, like it was a tight crop and a little noisy before sharpening.

Nice capture, I love shooting these birds when I find them, hard to get them to sit still for long though. I hope you don't mind, I noticed you had image editing ok on so I ran your photo through neat image to clear up the background noise.Thanks for sharing.edit: forgot to fade the neat image results, thus the blurred spot on its underside, could also have masked the bird, but only had time for a quick try at it.

thanks for the comments and the edit - I have neat image, but seldom use it because I have a hard time deciding which settings look best. Something I keep meaning to deal with.......
Fee - I've been looking for this bird for over a year - and in the last two weeks, I've seen bunches. Go figger.
