I worked a video shoot today for a Muay Thai Instructional DVD. I had my new 1D MKIIn with me so I asked if I could shoot a few pics. I used my 430EX with an umbrella under Flourescent lights and an open door with natural light streaming in from the left. I don't do portraits at all so I thought I'd post to receive some comments. the WB still looks a little off to me but I can't seem to get it right.

Nice.
A little light bounced into his face/chest may have helped.

Have you tried to play with this as B&W. No WB issues then;) I think it's a great capture of a strong subject. It doesn't always have to be perfect. Well done!!

Had a play with it. Just thought I'd show what it looks like in B&W with a touch of sepia.

I like it best in color, not enough contrast between the wall and his skin for my taste...White in the first photo appears ok on my screen,,,in looking at the white in his shorts..

The "eyes" have it !

I like both shots and I think the little bit of shadows looks good and accentuates his muscles tone. I also agree the background is bit distracting, but a great shot overall.. Lets see more!!
