Well I was finally (after having the new lense a week) able to get my wife in front of my camera today. Please let me know what you think. C&C's are welcome, needed, desired. Thanks everyone.

Canon 5D and EF 85mm F/1.2
shot settings 85mm, F/1.2, 1/60sec

Congrats on the lens. Looks like a good shot to me, F/1.2 can be tricky, but you seem to have focused on her eyes which is good :)

Yea it is, I took one just playing around from about two or three feet away at f/1.2 and ended up with just her nose in focuse. Kind of a funny pic.

Nice candid, maybe crop out some of the empty space on top and a bit to the right.

Now the better question is: Is this a *NEW* wife picture or a new *WIFE* picture because your post title is a little misleading ;) haha

The very first thing I do when photographing someone is make sure they are turned at a 45 degree angle to the camera. This will take off about 15 pounds and women love photographers who can take off 15 pounds (and if you can take off 25 They REALLY love you!!!)

I imaging it requires a lot of care to get it focused correctly at f/1.2 (as calicokat mentioned). Nice one.

I would like to lose 30 pounds... should one shoot me at a 45 from a tower? hehe.

Thanks everyone for the comments, to answer a few comments. It’s a new picture of my wife; I have trouble getting her in front of the camera. We recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. I originally had her at about a 45 degree angle, and in other pictures she is, but she wanted that one posed as she was. I didn't do that much PP to it, and I have already cropped a good portion of the top out and some of the right side.
