I just received my G2 a few days ago and am looking for a quality printer. It appears that the Epson 1280 is going to be my choice. Any comments from anyone about their printer selection?

Thanks in advance!

Without doubt this is the best A3+ photo printer. I've had mine for some 4 months after upgrading from the Epson 895DC A4 printer and it has been faultless providing superb prints.

Hope this helps,
Barry

Hi I have just bought a 1290 printer 4 weeks ago did a couple of prints at A3 from g2 superb quality. I also run 2 photo790 printers one colour the other using Lyson quad black inks they both produce superb images especially the black and white prints with the Lyson inks.

Here is another photographer who can help you with you decision.

I own the Epson 880 cost $60 US. It is very good, but limited to 8 x 10. I have "scanned film" and printed with the Epson and also with dye sublimation. They are close at a "reasonable" viewing distance.

BUT, I do not get too far with the 880's two ink wells. Replacement cartridges just cost me $45 US. Almost as much as the printer!

Go for it. Buy some universal frames. When you have a keeper, frame it and hang it where you can see it every day. One of my first hangers was a "hand-stitched" film shot of Stonehenge -- great "Psycho Cybernetic" feedback ! If only I had had the G@ and photostitch.

Good Luck

HOWIE

I own the 1270 and print quality prints using Epson Premium Glossy paper. Wish I owned the 1280 for the borderless prints. Ofoto is good too. ...Rich
