Critique my efforts...

...if you don't mind.

I am tryin' to improve the overall quality of my photos...the following were all shot with my 350D & the only lens I have Canon's 17-85 EF-S.

From time to time I like to post photos I like to see what folks here may have to say...any and all comments or critizism would be appreciated.

This first offering is a snap shot of my sister and her only grand child...Jaidyn.

They were visiting from Utah recently and this snap shows what Jaidyn calls "hand kisses"

This was also shot in mom's backyard...I caught one of my great nieces hiding in a bush...she actually thought I couldn't see her well enough to take a picture.

I'll not bore y'all with any more "family" photos....I am curious what y'all may say about the three I posted. Thanks in advance for your input.

second one is really nice

I actually like 1 and 2. There's something about the post processing that makes them look weird to me, although I can't point it out right now.

As snap shots the first two are great. But to be honest, I not too fond of the post processing.

The kissing shots are splendid. The peeking through the brances doesn't do much for me though. Maybe just a small amount of brances framing her (in focus) would have worked better.

I love the first two shots. The captures are adorable. I am not too fond of the post processing either. I am finding the conversions too flat for my tastes. Can you post an original for us to play around with?

The great thing about photography is that there is always someone who will find what others dislike appealing. The first two shots do othing for me at all, not a big fan of B&W to begin with, the third I find appealing though I would crop it at about elbow level.

I am not a fan of the PP either...it's to "smooth"

Having said that, I think these are much better than "snapshots" you are capturing unposed memories that are priceless...

The second one is adorable as a photo. I agree with the others that the first one seems more as a snapshot (albeit a cute one). With hindsight being 20/20 I would have shot the first shot from the right. Meaning I would have taken 3 big steps to the right, pointed my camera left as to get the side of your sisters face and more of the child. Good work.
