Here is a test shot of the helios 40-2 85 f/1.5, at f/2: my daughter while having dinner, in the kitchen with very low ambient light.
You can see, by her expression, what she thinks of her father...

Tough to work with such shallow dof. It may be my laptop monitor, but the eyes don't seem pinsharp to me. Nevertheless, it's a nice portrait. Very cute kid.

Yes, I missed the eye... I believe that the focus is somewhere on the nose.
The fact is, that at 85 mm, f/2, at 1 meter from the subject, the DOF is less then 1 cm....
Not easy at all, in low light and with a moving kid....
But that's the fan of it, isn't it? :lol:

Yeah its amazing how an older lens can make you feel like that! LOL.. just kidding, make sure you take a lot of photos, they dont stay at that age for long.
