Thanks mate, it sounds a lot better than my standard M42>EOS.

I was messing around with my Carl Zeis 135mm the past few days, its another great golden oldie :-)

All of these shots are 100% crops.

This is taken with my Sigma 17-70 at 17mm F2.8 (wide open)

This is the Sigma 17-70 at 70mm F4.5

Now for the oldies!

This is the Carl Zeiss 135mm F3.5 (wide open)

Now the same lens with a 2x TC

The TC naturally degrades the image, but its got quite a long reach now.

One thing to note is that the AF confirmation adaptors will not work with the 1DMK2 because there is a pin located just inside the mount that must be pushed in to signal to the camera that an AF lens is attached and the adaptors do not push it.

These adaptors are more suited to the small and dim viewfinders of the 1.6x cameras as Canon's own Ec-b 1-series screen makes manually focussing a breeze. I have an AF confirmation chip mounted to a Leica adaptor for use in my 300D and it really does help a lot.

I have only seen them in Hong Kong, I take it there is nobody in the UK that does these? although I have ordered from HK before & its sometimes faster than ordering inside the country!

Nick :-)
