This was not the funnest time I have ever had I must say. The family was very nice to me, but with soo many people there it was tough to keep control. I'm not sure how I feel about these few shots, I think they are OK but nothing special. Unfortunatly the family could only get together at 1pm, about the worst position for the sun to be in.

Did I do alright? C&C Please :)

The rule of thumb I use suggests it takes one frame per person in a group shot to have 95% chance of getting everybody looking at the camera with eyes open and mouths shut! You did a grand job. I would have cropped the first closer I think. Anyway, I think the second suffers from "open shade" color cast problems and have touched it here although it is quite compressed.

How DID you get all of them "eyes open/mouth shut" at the same time? Great job, wonder pics. Did you use the 50mm?

Wow thanks everyone! Making me feel good. Hopefully they feel the same way you do.

To answer all of your questions, I have no idea how I got them all to keep there eyes open. I think I got lucky that there were no babies, just younger kids who behaved quite well.

Looks good. The first one is just about perfect. The second one is a little unbalanced because of how they are lined up. There is a trend of short to tall (left to right) in the back two rows. Just nitpicking.

I think you did a pretty good job on both. I prefer the 2nd arrangement because it looks more personal to me. I agree with Dwight, the color is off on that one a bit, easy fix though. Once you get more than one person in the shot you run into the problem of whose looking where. You must have threatened this group because you did get them looking at you.
