Looks nice, but the ISO performance is enough to allow me to keep saving for a 1-series

Good price. I expected it to be around $1000, since that's about where the XT started. I wonder how much it will drop come prime shopping season...

I don't think you are going to see a drop anytime soon.

I'm figuring around Thanksgiving or so, when everyone is having their big sales. The dedicated camera stores probably won't drop prices, but places like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy might.

Crashoran,

Could you elaborate on the above?

i can't believe they still make the body also available in silver

i guess the soccer moms have to have some bling in their camera too (being that they're probably the only ones who want the silver version)

oh well, guess I can't talk. I still have an old silver 300D <sigh>

Well that didn't take long - of the four choices (silver or black, body only or kit), the only one left in stock at this time is the silver body with the kit lens.

Hang in there, they will be back in stock before you know it.

Have Fun,

Rick
