Just came up from feeding in the marshes of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and came up to dry/air off its wings. Suprisingly, he was not shy in the least. I was about 5-6 feet away from him. Wasn't to much available light, so I had to use a fairly slow shutter speed unfortunately. All shots were taken with the Canon 70-200mm f/4.0L and 1.4x TC attached. Enjoy! C&C welcome! Cheers, Adrian Adrian Valldeperas

Thank you pttenn! I used flash to increase the light, but didn't help much. Adrian Valldeperas

I actually like the effect of the dim light and the bird is quite detailed. 5-6' from it? Lucky you, I've never even seen an Anhinga. RESPECTING NATURE while photographing it...

Thank you ngannet! I actually took about 20 or so pictures of it, and these are the only ones that came out decent. I was VERY suprised he let me get so close to him. But I took a few shots, then got closer, few more, got closer, and so on. I was testing to see how close he'd let me get. Very cool bird. I'm glad I encountered it, as I have been trying so hard to get some good shots of one. There's a couple local to me, but they are pretty skittish and won't let me get within reasonable distance.
