Ok I thought I would start a thread to share my experience with Sigma UK. I have a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 lens that I have been using for the last 3-4months. I have been unhappy with the sharpness of this lens since I got it (bought it from a fellow POTN member) I contacted Sigma who advised the best course of action was to send it to them for calibration along with my Camera, this is where the fun begins!
Sent both camera and lens of 2 weeks ago. Camera is sent back to me 1 day after they receive it as they have completed the tests, great thinks I, wrong courier messes up and it is delayed for 3 days in their depot they then deliver it to my work instead of my house when I am not there:evil:  Thats not Sigma fault to be fair!
Sigma inform me that they need to get the factory in Japan to make a new circuit for the lens that will take approx 3 weeks from when they first receive the lens. Fair enough.
They called today (2weeks to the day from when I sent the lens) saying the factory in Japan have no new circuits available and there is a 40 day lead time on the factory getting one:evil: then 10 days to get the circuit from Japan to the UK so should get the lens repaired 50 days from now a total of 64 days for a re-calibration:evil:  I have asked for the lens to be sent back to me so that I can use it mean time but overall I think this is crap service for a lens supposed to be aimed at the professional market!
One positive is that they are now doing this repair for free which is good, and the service technician seems spot on and has been honest from the start which I appreciate but I still felt this was worthy of sharing for fellow POTN members in the UK to be aware of.
Cheers Ricky

That's really poor considering you bought a UK import and Sigma UK gets the profit from it.
