I have another thread going right now, and I wanted to post a picture showing CA, so I get out my kit lens and start trying to get a shot with some CA. Wouldn't it just figure that not only did my shot not have any CA, but it also was pretty sharp too. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I've come to believe that the kit lens is probably the best 'bang for the buck' out there (except for the 50 f/1.8 perhaps). Unfortunately I didnt realize this until after I sold mine.....live & learn!

Thanks for the offer Chris....I actually do wish I still had it! However I'm going to solve the problem with a 10-22 instead. When does this lens buying disease ever go away :D ?

My kit lens was fairly sharp, CA was a bit high at 2-3 pixels but not cronic. I remeber it being prone to flair however, otherwise a good bit of glass although I now use the 17-40.

there is some CA on the photo posted above :) just look at the edge, and 100% crop would reveal it completley :D

I loved my kit lens... I used it for more than 1 year! ! yeah, and it served me well... I'm not happy with its zoom and manual focus though... and it feels very cheap :) sharpness is very good though :) never had any trouble with XT/KIT :)

If you want to see CA, go outside and take photos of objects against the sky.
