You captured the flight perfectly, the exposure, which is difficult for a white bird in full sunlight, is a little overexposed. Try to decrease the exposure compensation a full -1 1/3 stops for this situation.

That's a very nice start Tom. Shooting bird in flight is not easy (at least for me). Gull is a good for panning practice. ;)
