I've got a budget of about 350 dollars and Im looking for a decent 200 lens.
Any got suggestions of what that would be? I was hoping to get the 70-200 but I think thats alittle too pricey for me right now.
Anyways, Fire away!

We need a little more information than that. Do you like to shoot sports or wildlife? If so you need a fast lens. Do you do most of your shooting in the middle of the day, of closer to nighttime. This would also define how fast (aperture) and how fast the foccusing of the lens must be.

Without knowing these things, I can reccomend the Sigma 70-300 APO DG MACRO. It is under $200 new, and has fantastic capability for its price. It is fairly sharp wide open, and wonderful stopped down a bit, and since you don't have a particular preference, the Macro function of the lens (1:2) should prove useful from time to time. Make sure however that you get the APO DG MACRO version, and not any older ones, as they may have compatibility issues. Also, make sure it has a red ring, as the ones w/o are much lower quality.

I've got that Sigma lens and while it's great, it is not fast and is best stopped down to about f8. Which, is actually slow as hell. If you don't mind using your 70-XXX zoom lens on a tripod a lot or you have steady hands, try it out. With 350, you're pretty close to the 70-200 f4, if you're not going to get into macro then I'd save up and go that route.
