Seen across the fairway of a golf course in North Scottsdale. The bird was perched on a rock which made an attractive plinth. Using my 5D and 100-400 on a tripod, at 400mm the bird filled the centre circle of the screen. Getting towards sunset meant 800ASA and and a big crop to produce this...I think the pose wins out over the noisy /grainy background. (80k file). The bird was concentrating on something which really helped me get the shot. The something turned out to be a bobcat about 20 yards from me and the strange noises I could hear as I concentrated on the image in the viewfinder was my wife about 10 yards behind me trying to tell me it was there. Eventually I got the shot of the bird, looked up and for about 5 seconds locked eyes with the bobcat which then turned and casually walked off into some scrub. They say you should always listen to your wife!!

A very good image of the Road-runner. Good job he stayed still enough for you to capture the shot, the pose is perfect for this roadrunner as though he is getting ready to run, ready steady...

Nice capture of this very cool looking bird. A little more room on the right for the bird to look/move into would be nice and if it was mine I would consider cropping the green OOF grass from the bottom of the shot. Still a very good shot in any case.

Gary Fairhead C/C welcome .....
