A quick shot from this morning, this juvenile Anna's hummer was checking to make sure that approaching the new feeder was safe.

f/4.5 @ 1/200sec, ISO 400, 178mm

C&C welcomed!

Nice looking hummer. I'm amazed at all the different color variations these little guys have. I have yet to come across these. Nice shot!

Magnificent pose while hovering is indeed a very good shot, nicely composed and the colours are beautiful, well done and good work.

Beautiful capture Bea of a species we unfortunately do not get up here. I would love to see an Anna's Hummer. Wonderful patterns and colors in the bird and nice bokeh.

Fee, Keith, Bill, Tony and Gary: thank you for your nice words!

I just hope this little guy sticks around, by next year his whole head should be red. That is so pretty! Sometimes I wonder if he might be one of "my chicks" (if you remember I had a nest in my yard and took a few pics back in February-April). He is the least shy of all the hummers in my yard, as if he's known me his whole life.

Wow, that's nice. It seems our season is now over. I haven't seen any for about 2 weeks. We only get a few on their way back south, they all stay in the mountains, 50 miles to the west. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice shot of this beautiful little bird, they are quite the little lookers aren't they. Very well done, always a pleasure to see images of them.
