Hudsonian Curlew ( Whimbrel )

I was surprised as to how close I was able to get to this Whimbrel. Canon G3 at 4x optical with attached 1.85 teleconverter and post processing in PS Elements 3

This is indeed an excellent shot Reigh, love the pose on this whimbrel. Good long bill is one of it's outstanding features, though not as long as the Curlew.
Good smooth texture on the stones makes this also a good image, nice shot, well done.

Wonderful photograph with great composition, colors, light, foreground stones and great DOF and then to top it off a great looking bird. Very nice!

A little further south... I hear there are whimbrels at Hartlen Point as well if anyone is from the Halifax area.
