Wonderful shots, Keith. To my eyes, you put the light "in your favor" by the exposures you gave these images. Great detail, composition and colors.

Thanks Ron for your comments. I was hoping the heron would stick his head in the light and he did (Shot#2), that's wyhen I hit the shutter. Although the light was not optimal, I was satisfied with the exposures. :)

Thanks to Sindri, Fee, Cyberdine, Fee and Reyno for the looks and comments. I do appreciate them.

You and liv2trip should get together and hold a shoot-the-heron contest! You guys are attracting them with your lenses!

:) :) , Funny how both Wayne and I who were hundreds f miles apart had a similar exprience with these herons. I went out the next day after this set and put a wide angle zoom on the camera and grabbed THESE SHOTS. They have a totally different look to them an nice depth that I don't get with the longer lenses. I think when opportunity presents itself, I will shot off a few with the wider angles....https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=217916

Thanks guys for the looks and comments! :D
