Not really, but I was just messing around in the studio a few days ago and decided to take a self portrait. I finally figured out how to set the lighting up so you can't see the black background that is all wrinkled. Ofcourse I adjusted the saturation in this picture to give it a little bit of an artsy feel. I think I need a hair light because my black hair has disappeared in the background.

nice i like it. i would pull the saturation down in your face so you dont look so red. i dont know some people just appear red once processed.

like the feel of it though. its demanding

It looks cool, but I bet it looked better without the intense saturation. You look a little red.

Oh just read the other posts...haha, ditto what they said.

I like the original better with one exception, your shirt. No reason to blow it out.

Well, I just got my strobes, so I'm still learning how to not do things like that. Im not sure how to get enough light on my whole body but not blow out the pure white shirt.

I think he was refering to the original-edit :) not the actual original. I prefer the one you originally posted but agree you could probably work on toning down the red skin a bit and not blowing out the shirt in post. I like it regardless.

A hair light would probably be good as well w/ your hair and that BG.

Correct. I think you did fine with your lights and I was not knocking your photo. I was merely stating that I liked the artsy appearance of the first post, but the non-blown shirt of the second. Sorry, my wording original was intended to me original post here, not original photo taken.:)

I think your idea of lighting the hair will help. I prefer the original with a slight curves adjustment.
