I don't have my lens here at the moment, but I was thinking of using it for the Packers game on Sunday. They only allow up to 12" lenses.. Am I going to make it?

well BH says its 7.4" and well that would be at the 100mm cause thats fully compressed. I think you should be ok if they limit up to 12"

What a bizzare restriction. I'm just hoping that restriction is because of the actual physical size that might interfere with other fans around you. They aren't actually implying any kind of quality or focal length you may get at 12" are they?

I would imagine it's to keep from interfering with other fans. I called the Milwaukee Brewers too as I will be going to the Brewers/Cardinals game on Monday and they said any lens is ok as long as you aren't interfering with other fans watching the game. So that's probably why the Packers impose that restriction.

They probably made that rule after someone brought their 600 mm F4L lens to the game or something. I definitely wouldn't want to sit next to someone wielding that 12 lbs. monster. :-P
