http://www.usedcamerabuyer.com/ (external link)

Is it reputable?

Suzie, I haven't used them, but I did contact them for a quote when I was thinking of selling some gear. Their quoted price for the stuff I was selling was about 1/3 to 1/2 of what KEH offered for the same gear. I ended up passing the gear down to my daughter, but if I was buying, or selling, used gear I think I'd stick with someone like KEH.

I just don't know how they got me on their mailing list. I never buy used stuff from anyone but people here.

Off topic but.... Nice new avatar Suzy. Gonna take some time to get used to without reading your name lol. I liked the other one you had as well... Is this a pic ya took recently?

I am surprised resellerrating.com doesnt have a rating for it.

Me too. I was shocked to see this in my e-mail because I don't subscribe to any on-line stores for such things. Oh well. I guess I can e-mail them to take my name off. There's really nothing I need right now. Can you believe that?

Yes, I do love my avatar. I couldn't decide whether to change it or not, but sometimes I get a little bored. It's a picture of the Grand Teton at sunrise. I took it in July when we were there. I have about 1000 pictures from our vacation and over 100 came out beautiful. I shot slides, B&W, color film and digital and there are more keepers than I could have imagined, which is why I started this thread. I wish I had this stuff and this knowledge about 30 years ago when I was a teenager. My brother started at 16 and hasn't looked back. So, I applaud parents who let their young children play with good equipment and have fun. They won't regret it, especially if they get pictures from a 4 foot point of view. :)

Yeah I really got into photography at about age 17 and I am now 19... I am loving it so far! Wow that is great Suzy!! Sounds like that vacation was more than worth it! I've been up by Jackson Hole... Never to Yellowstone but have seen the Tetons many times. My dad hunts just south of Jackson Hole.

Do you have a gallery online anywhere where we can see your work by chance?

No. I am still new at this internet stuff so I keep it to myself. I will start a gallery next year when I have time to really do it right. I have 2 sons who are going to help me over the winter break. They want their mom to get some publicity. I have a few weddings coming up this winter and a lot of reunions to shoot. I absolutely love reunions. People are so fun to be around. I think I finally have the tools I need to do things right, except for th 5D that will open up my work, I'm sure. Currently, I am still learning and playing around with all the new glass I have.

That's awesome Suzy. I wish you the best! I just pulled the trigger on over $5k worth of gear this evening... Long awaited too let me tell ya ;). I am really excited to see your gallery once you have one. Again, good luck with getting some publicity. That will open up a whole new world I am sure.

I am currently in the hunt for a photo related job. I know it's going to be tough to find before I graduate with my degree, but I dont agree with that. A paper doesnt show the quality photos I am able to take now without that paper.
