It is a Canon FLP 38mm pancake lens, exclusively for use on the Canon Pellix. It has a rear element that extends into the mirror box. But since the mirror on the Pellix doesn't flip up, the extension won't be in the way.
I know there are some ultra-wide lenses that require mirror lock-up, but I never knew about this one.
Canon made the Pellix in the FD (FL, actually) days, and the EOS RT, both of which had pellicle mirrors that didn't flip up - could there be a pellicle mirror DSLR in our future?
