Took some pics last weekend of my friend and her 10 month old daughter.
Had to shoot indoors as weather was yuck.
Room was really cramped so made the most of what we had.
Any comments on how to have made this shot better would be appreciated.
Photo is original except for a bit of cropping and re-sizing

Focus is off.


I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

Nice composition, but seems to lack a little sharpness, maybe due to a small aperture giving a shallow DOF. Difficult to tell, which AF point did you use?

It looks really soft. What shutter speed were you using?


Beginner photographer

My equipment:
dRebelXT with kit lens

It's odd, it seems her hands are more in focus than the baby's face, but yeah. Way out of focus.

As others have said, focus looks a bit off. Other than that, I think a tighter crop would look better, it seems you have too much empty space for my liking.
