So, what's the deal with those sites advertising 30D for $549?

I tried to place an order the other day for a Canon 30D online but of course when I called to verify the order they didn't have any of the camera bodies only in stock so I cancelled my order.

Is it possible to get this camera at this price or is this just a scam to get you to call and then upgrade you with a bunch of junk you don't need?

Stay away of those "good prices". If you want to upgrade (like me), buy for a reputable dealer and, wait for the rebate time, lol.

Yeah, I think B&H is the only place I'm going to buy from. I look around from time to time for better deals but always end up going back to B&H.

Any idea if prices are going to come down at all on the 30D in the coming months?

I've been checking that account online for any unbilled activity but haven't seen anything yet.

Yep I have heard stories of these places just using your card for other purchases... Keep a close eye on your account for sure. I'd even change my card just for security purposes.
