Hi,
you got a good reflection and pose, while the strong blue water look nice as a background you seem to have lost details in the white, how was your exposure?

It looks like a sanderling in non-breeding plumage.

Just picked up a National geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America at Borders in the bargain book section for $3.99. I think that the Peterson's a better field guide but for 3.99 you can't go wrong!
