Came across this fella with his female feeding their young. The red wattles get a bit longer with age and they use them to make strange clacking sounds. C&C welcome.

Hi Trace,
I love # 1 what a great pose, both very well exposed and good colors,
IMHO both phots are too tight I would like to see more room around the bird especially in # 1 on the left side, also not too be too picky but his tail is cut in # 2.
all in all great catch
Regards,

Clare

These are very good shots of the wattlebird, with good details in the plumage. Nice reflection in the eye in the first shot too. I agree regarding the crop being a little too tight, however very good shots, well done.

Thanks Clare and Tony. Unfortunately, I did the dreaded boo boo and reworked the original in both. I took about 80 shots in my lunch hour on the day I took these and in my haste of downloading, sorting, naming and reworking I stuffed it. Never again though, I now burn to CD immediately after deleting what I don't want.

With regard to the Wattlebird, I was pleased with the amount of yellow plumage this male had as it appeared to have more than those around home. The female has smaller wattles and limited yellow.

Trace.
