A Day In High School

Did a shoot for a local all girls Catholic HS yesterday. Here are a few...cc welcome.

First is of a student in class and the second is of the headmistress (a nun) in her office.

Very sharp and clear. Nice shots.

thanks...i'm getting used to seperating the focus and zoom functions on my 20/30D combo set, i.e. using the "*" button to focus and only using centered metering. It seems to have improved my image quality a lot.

The first image looks scary. The girl on the left as it came out is freaky looking and really is a distraction in this shot. Next time try having an out of focus person behind your subject to avoid such a large out of focus blob.

Well done. I like the DOF separation in both. In the first on, I'm drawn to the student in the background (focused subject). She makes me wonder why she's smiling. The girl in front must be reacting too, but she doesn't distract to me unless I keep going back and looking at her.

We're you using your 30D ? I'm thinking about adding one to my wish list.
