I just purchased a Gitzo 1325 and I must say, WOW!

This thing is solid! I am really impressed and recommend it to anyone looking for a (last purchase) tripod for any lens in the Canon lineup.... (except the 1200mm)

I am paving the way for the next lens....

500 or 600 ....

My shots from today did not turn out that great but that was my fault not the tripods ... here is one of a GBH in he shade at just after sunrise. There was no way to get a better angle as I was on the side of a river.

Camera: Canon EOS-1D
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 400 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Another same spot:

Camera: Canon EOS-1D
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 400 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 67/100 EV

Last GBH shot :

Camera: Canon EOS-1D
Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
Aperture: f/11 (actually f16)
Focal Length: 800 mm (actually 1120mm) ((2x and the 1.4x stacked)
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Wonderful job Eric, how heavy is the tripod? I like using a tripod, but not carrying it.

Real nice shots Eric, especially the last, especially considering the stacked TC's.

Sounds a good tripod you purchased. The last image of the Heron is a magnificent shot Eric and I love the second image too, very interesting, well done.
