After having this lens sitting around the house for over a week I finally put it on a body yesterday afternoon and shot a couple of frames and this is the result. I took it with me to shoot Marco Antonio Solis last night at the casino but haven't processed those images yet.

Looks like you are going to have great success with this lens! I can't believe you had this lens sitting around for a week without using it. :)

Gavin Ellis made me do it! Yes, I expect that it will be a marvelous tool. The picture of Anna was shot with monopod but I used a tripod with Wimberley head at the casino.

400mm f/2.8L ??
Holy Smokes, Dwight.

I suspect the added reach is going to come in real handy for your Casino job.

Congrats.

Being shot with available window light, your photograph has need for color adjustments.
In Photoshop go to Image/Adjustments/Color balance - set Cyan to -80.Click OK. After go to Image/Adjustments/Selective color, in Colors select White, set Yellow to -7 to get clean highlights.Click OK.

Great lens and pretty model. Try to work with them on outside and let us see results. It will amaze you and all of us.
Regards - Waldemar

So how far back did you need to stand for such a long lens?

Thank you, Kevin & Steve.

Waldemar, I liked the warmth but this is nice, too.

Dag, I was about 15-17 feet away. This is uncropped.

Hi Dwight - Great capture, your model looks very relaxed and angelic ;).

Below is another workup using only the Pro Contrast Filter (correct color cast 30% & correct contrast 30%, the defaults are 50%) in the NIK Color Effect Pro 2.0.

I'm with you, Dwight. I don't think it "needed" correcting. Nice shot.

Life is good. Photograph it.
Reprocess/repost welcomed and encouraged.

I really like the colors in the first shot but she doesn't seem to be having as much fun with the camera as she used to.
