Everything seemed to work out this morning while shooting. That is I got lucky with some good captures. I keep telling myself to think about composition when shooting but the birds don't cooperate all that well most times and I end up rushing just to get the shot. I'm slowly getting better but still have a long way to go. Anyhow, here are some of the better shots from this morning:

Great Egrets:
Caught this guy just as he was stabbing a fish.

This guy didn't want to share his fishing hole.

This guy was chasing the other around. Don't know exactly what they were doing.

Great Blue Heron:
I'm getting a little too close.

Spooked him. (This is my favorite shot of the morning.)

This is my second favorite, wish it was a little sharper though.

Enjoy!! C&C is always welcome.

Quite the day... Good series; Although youe Egrets are very "HOT" too bright. Very challenging to expose those whites properly on the fly...
Very good images...Though. I like the series.

#1. You have the "X" factor in your favor.;)
#2. Cool double wing capture.
#4. I find too tight at the top... would be better with a little more room above the Egret. May cut of some fro the bottom..
#5. Out for a morning jog....Laps arounf the pond...PLUS....Cool spiked hairdoo.
#7. GBH take-off .. Probably the best (My Opinion) for exposure, detail, composition.

Look forward to your next additions...:D

Thanks Busbyea!

I was cropping out a Coot at the top of #4. That's why it is so tight. It just didn't look quite right with the Coot in the shot.
