cool hummingbird series, great colors

took these today he stopped on the branch never seen one do that before but i got a couple great pink colors on his neck, hope you enjoy im still new to photography this is my first hummingbird so cc needed thanks so much have a great day, ph these were all taken with a sigma 105mm macro its the only lens i have right now, lol those things are expensive

Wow, nice shots of what looks like a 1st year male Hummingbird, but not sure which type (Black-chinned maybe? But they are western hummingbird). Beautiful plumage. Nice job Bill.

The 100-400L is a great lens. If you stack some extension tubes (not extender or teleconverter), it reduces the minimum focus range so that you can get closer to the subject and fill up the frame, especially when shooting small subject like hummers.
I took these hummer shotslast weekend with my Bigma and some tubes. Worked pretty well.

nice shots ive been thinking bout that lens to but i wanted the is cause i have shaky hands, lot of my images get blured, so tubes huh i was gonna get a converter but seems like tubes would be good to, i thought they were ony for macro photography, learn something enw every day. thanks again great shots your self take care

These are very good shots Bill of the humming bird, I love the colours. With 105m shots of such a small bird you have done very well. You will do very well with 105-400m IS lens for bird photography.
