All I can say after doing my first long exposure is "there's certainly alot to be learned"

I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't any clouds in the sky at the time to make the image look less flat but I went ahead anyway and chaulked it up as a learning experience.

For some, you may feel the patch of grass in the FG is distracting but I left it there to give the viewer a sence of how close I was to the edge of the cliff.

Tv 30sec, Av f/11, ISO 100 and Cokin ND8 filter to stop the light down to get the required SS

Thanks for looking.
C&C would help

For a first I think you did very well Frank. For some reason though there seems to be a halo along the distant hill. I like to see the middle shore cropped to show the detail there.

I like it, reminds me of central california. The water flowing over the rocks is awesome

I like it Frank and, as mentioned, for a first effort, you've done really well. The color is fantastic as is the water effect.

Nice shot - I like the blue color.

Oh yes...:lol::lol:,it is a hard thing to master.

I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't any clouds in the sky at the time to make the image look less flat but I went ahead anyway and chaulked it up as a learning experience.

Good thinking,if you wait for the perfect weather, you might wait for ever.

For some, you may feel the patch of grass in the FG is distracting but I left it there to give the viewer a sence of how close I was to the edge of the cliff.

:lol:,i know, been there, some times you have to do it though.;)

Tv 30sec, Av f/11, ISO 100 and Cokin ND8 filter to stop the light down to get the required SS

Do you think (did you try it?) without the filter (S/S 4sec) it wouldn`t be enough?

However,a very nice first time.;)

Thanks for the nice compliment
Not sure why there's a halo along the hill Bluedog I didn't do any PP there at all.

Thanks Calicokat but I think I could have gotten the same effect with a faster SS

Thanks HrcRacing, I'll certainly be doing more

The ocean is fantastic, but the sky is bland. If I were you, I would zoom in a bit in order to cut out the grass in the foreground and some of the sky. Great first attempt!
