Gary Fairhead Nice series here Ted and I am a little slow commenting...a few computer issues and then my youngest lad comandeered it for homework I am glad I decided to join you on your quest and i don't think there was ever any serious doubt after receiving that e-mail and photo from Saul the previous day. Marc's post only reinforced the likelihood I would get wet Your images are all great with good composition and detail, great light and I am quite happy we had diffused light with the cloudiness of the morning...no shadows A very beautiful Owl and nice to see it has grown to become such a healthy specimen since the Winter. I hope it sticks around but I also wonder if its just the first step for its departure to find its own territory....summer is almost done. I will check for a few images that are different from yours and then decide if i should post or not....thanks for letting me try out the 500 F4 BTW
Thanks Gary; I was on a mission...wet it was going to be; and wet it was...But not that bad eh? I really enjoyed it..Made my day. Anytime the 500's available...just ask.
canondslruser Good news folks. The Great Horned Owl is still there as of late this afternoon.
Thanks canondslruser..
Glad to here the owl's still around; Gary was telling me he's heard it may be on it's way soon...We have to take advantage while we can..
dancad Looks like Marc and I started a new trend...the wet look! Great shots Ted, glad you were able to "soak" up the fun!
Thanks Dan; I've been wet since I met you guys (behind the ears that is...
being the Rookie of the bunch)
dazzlebea The wet treck seems worthwhile, Ted, you got some wonderful shot of this gorgeous owl. I'd be worried like crazy about slipping/tripping and taking a bath, not to mention dunking my gear. You are all very brave
Thanks Bea; we manged quite well; only wet up to our knees; Some of the others took a more direct line and got a bit more water logged
. Slip/Sliding was the nature of the walk; Slow and Steady...
